Who do we serve? Population: –MR/DD Population –HBH/Mental Health Population SE Model: –Candeo offers two different styles of job development and coaching designed to better support both populations.

Transition Services Job Development –Jump start the job search –Professional development Partnership with schools –Des Moines Public Schools –Johnston High School

Transition Services Working closely with the schools to... –Ensure a smooth transition –Start early to set expectation of employment –Plan goals –Insight on information/employment experience –Soft skills, resume, job exploration

MR/DD Employment Services: Employment Model: Works only with Candeo’s employment team. Assessment: Brief, discussing an individual’s priorities, skills, needs and wants of employment and employment history. Benefits: our Business Liaison will provide basic education and referrals. Professional Development: Resume, interview, hand shake, 10 second commercial.

HBH/Mental Health Employment Services: Projected date: March of 2009 Employment Model: Works primarily with their HBH staff. Assessment: Focused on employment history/not a formal assessment. Immediate Access: Importance of jumping on desire. By utilizing their primary HBH staff, the wait would be minimal. Professional Development: How to sell yourself, confidence building, hand shake, 10 second commercial, resume.

Benefits of new HBH Model: Consistency of Supports Consistency of Staff Ability to jump start job development Off job site coaching Allows client to be more independent.
