Victory begins with right perspective.

Objectives: At the end of the session, the participants should be able to:  define technical assistance (TA);  explain and appreciate the importance of providing TA;  distinguish the modes of TA;  discuss the essential competencies in providing TA; and  identify the critical steps in TA Process.

 Some participants will pair up while other participants will serve as observers.  Each pair designates who is A and who is B.  Blindfold Partner A.  Participant A makes a fist and presents it to Participant B.  Participant B has exactly 30 seconds to open their partner’s fist. It is a paired exercise in which one participant is challenged with opening the fist of his or her partner.

Guiding Principles of Technical Assistance Each organization is responsible for its own growth and development Technical assistance is aligned with the organization’s vision and mission and is based on the organization’s needs. Learning is a cooperative and a collaborative process.

Technical assistance is a process. It has steps to be followed and tools to make use of. It also requires some specific skills. It is a journey with the client towards achieving the latter’s set goals for continuous improvement.

Technical Assistance complements in the conduct of monitoring and evaluation. It aids in tracking the progress and results, and helps address concerns and enhance performance. Specifically, leadership and management should be concerned with: 1. Improving academic performance/learning outcomes of the schools; 2. Enhancing KSAs to ensure the effective delivery of services; and 3. Facilitating solutions to problems/ gaps/ needs in a particular area/s of professional development.
