Health Problems Poor hygiene & unclean water means many diseases such as malaria and diarrhea Many children die of hunger & diseases that could be easily treated World Health Organisation- worst health system in the world 1/3 of children have malnutrition- don’t eat enough 80% of the population live on less than $2 a day which is barely enough to cover food

Social Issues Most children drop out of school after only 5 years, making it difficult for them to find work & break the poverty cycle Electricity only works for 6 hours a day

New Life Trust – Myanmar Orphanage Relieves poverty & suffering of children by helping orphans & abandoned children Their verse is: "Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight" - James 1:27 today it is home to over 180 orphans and abandoned children rice farm & fish paddy provides food medical centre to provide healthcare for them & the wider community

Education Training Centre GEMS and Cadets will be fundraising for their new project- building an education training centre This will include: A preschool for community children Teaching English & Burmese to children Teaching computer skills A modern & safe building to learn in An English & Burmese library This centre will not only greatly improve education for children, but also help them to get jobs & get out of the poverty cycle

Life at New Life Shelly is 6 years old & attends primary school Quiet girl who likes chatting with her friends at New Life Her mother & sister were rescued after a cyclone destroyed their home in 2008 Shelly’s mother & older sister moved away leaving Shelly and her sister Bella Grace at New Life
