Using a power point in worship Using a power point in worship

Using a power point in worship A Focus A power point display can have a large visual impact at the front of a church and will draw the focus of the congregation during worship, not just while singing but also in prayers and when a preacher is talking.

Using a power point in worship A Focus – use of background image The image used as a background can be used to guide the focus of the congregation. Tailor image to theme and audience

A Youth style Bible focus

A morning service style Bible focus

Using a power point in worship A Focus – use of background image Avoid changing the background unless as a way of refocusing the congregations thoughts. A plain background is better than the wrong focus or one which obscures the text

Using a power point in worship A Focus – use of a holding slide A blank slide with the background image placed between each item gives the worship leader / preacher space between each item.

Using a power point in worship Clarity - contrast Good contrast between background and text is essential. If text becomes unreadable it can spoil all your hard work. What looks good on the screen may not be so good through the projector.

Using a power point in worship Clarity - Font Font size should be at least 32 and 40 is ideal Font style should be clear to read and avoid using lots of different ones. Good examples are Arial, Calibri, Times Roman, Comic Sans.

Using a power point in worship Clarity – Hymn / Songs Keep one verse or chorus to a page Try to keep text box origin (top left corner) in the same place to prevent verses moving around the screen Put Hymn copyright on last slide

Using a power point in worship Clarity – responses Try to make responses clear by using Italics and bold and change of size
