Presentation transcript:

A CV is only a single part of the application process for any job Employers will often use it as a reference in an interview Its your chance to show case yourself on paper

Keep it relevant (Tailor it to the job) Keep it professional Structure it well Don’t lie Tell employer about yourself, your passions and hobbies; add personality to your CV A good cover letter is a must

Should go with every CV A great chance to sell yourself and stand out Should explain why you want to work for that company How can company benefit from hiring you? What skills and traits can you bring to the table?

Needs to be included on every CV Only relevant grades are required – GCSE: Maths, English and Science Include any qualification that may be relevant to the job Always include your current education level, with your predicted grade

Your chance to show case yourself! – Sports – Musical instruments – extra curriculum activities – DoE, Young enterprise, etc Work Experience comes under your personal skills – Focus more on the skills you learn from the job rather than duties involved

A lot of employers expect them (especially online applications) Ensure that they are accurate and done by a non-family person (again, no lying) Can be easily obtained – your teachers, tutors, employers etc.

Identify the mistakes on CV’s that have been handed out

Create your CV with the provided template
