Notebook Entry #7: Writing off Literature Read a poem (or other piece of literature) then just write!

Tupac Shakur, poet & rapper Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete? Proving nature's law is wrong it learned to walk with out having feet. Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams, it learned to breathe fresh air. Long live the rose that grew from concrete when no one else ever cared.

Shel Silverstein, poet There’s a light on in the attic. Though the house is dark and shuttered, I can see a flickerin’ flutter, And I know what it’s about. There’s a light on in the attic. I can see from the outside, And I know you’re on the inside... lookin’ out.

As soon as either poem sparks an idea, start writing! Pay attention to your inner voice! Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete?
