Leonardo da Vinci Italian Renaissance 1452-1519

Leonardo the Painter Leonardo has created some of the most famous paintings ever made. The Last Supper. Was painted between 1495-1498. It is 15’2” x 28’10”. The ceiling and doorways are a great example of Leonardo’s use of one point perspective.

The Mona Lisa was painted between 1503-1506 The Mona Lisa was painted between 1503-1506. It is located to day in Paris at the Louvre. The identity of the women is unknown. Leonardo carried this painting with him everywhere he went until his death.

Leonardo’s Notebooks Leonardo was not only a painter, sculptor and architect he was an expert in engineering, military science, botany, anatomy, geology, aerodynamics and optics. His notebooks contain 10 thousand pages of notes, drawings, ideas and sketches. It was written left handed in reverse.
