GOWIND® OPV L’Adroit : 21st century OPV by DCNS African Union Commission – 19-20th April 2012

GOWIND® OPV : Missions & Characteristics Content DCNS Overview GOWIND® OPV : Missions & Characteristics DCNS solution for Maritime Surveillance & Intervention Cooperation with Local Industry Technical description of GOWIND ® L’Adroit and POLARIS (French Navy application) The presentation will consist of three parts. In the first part we will present some slides to explain, quite briefly, who we are and what we do, as an industrial company and prime contractor. In the second part, we will present the global solutions proposed by DCNS for the Maritime Surveillance & Intervention split-up into 4 sub-activities : Gowind OPV characteristics RHIB launching and Aviation UAV facilities Naval Assets Coordination Interfacing with coastal Maritime Surveillance System. We will end the presentation by a conclusion and we remain at your disposal for any clarification you may require. 2 | OPV GOWIND L’Adroit

DCNS solution for a complete Maritime Surveillance System Permanent in-depth surveillance of EEZ, coordination of naval assets Interfacing with Coastal Maritime Surveillance system Coastal Radar Maritime Coordination Center Fast Patrol vessel Helicopter Fast Patrol vessel Coastal Radar Naval assets coordination RHIBS or USV Various levels of maritime Surveillance & Intervention have to be considered to fulfil efficiently the missions in economic zones and territorial waters, with activities ranging from Public Service missions to Sea Control operations. The first one concerns the OPV himself. Then, the OPV relies on his organic assets such as UAV/SUV, RHIB and helicopter to extend his mission capability. Naval coordination between the other ships is obviously mandatory to gather and share with other units the tactical picture and all other information. Finally, interfacing with current or future Maritime Coordination Center for global maritime intelligence etc,… Gowind OPV Gowind OPV Surveillance in depth (>ZEE) Permanence High sea capability UAV Dedicated and flexible OPV with deployable assets (UAV,…) 11 | OPV GOWIND L’Adroit
