GOAL Trimming and/or Removal of Surrounding Trees

Tree Removal / Tree Trimming: Keep in your mind, as you look over your property, if a tree catches fire, what is the threat to your home? CONIFERS (evergreen or cone bearing trees) : The minimum recommendation is removal of all conifers to a distance of, at least 12 to 15 feet surrounding the structure. Removal of ALL conifers surrounding the structure, to a distance of 30 feet, is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Trimming of all conifer tree branches should be 15’ from the ground. We also recommend that tree removal and tree trimming of other conifers within the next 70 feet of the structure; remove all dead and diseased conifers from the property. Conifer: Evergreen/cone -bearing tree

DECIDUOUS (trees that shed at end of a season) : Keeping in mind, if the tree catches fire, what is the threat to your home? Removal of deciduous trees depends on their proximity to structure. Trimming to remove overhanging large tree branches and removing diseased trees that could fall and damage the home structure. Trimming of all tree branches should be from 12’ to 15’ from the ground in the defensible space area. Deciduous: Trees that shed (leaves) at end of season
