Typical features of elementary/grade school  Kindergarten (aged 5)  For children 5-11;  Grades 1-6 or 1-4;  Each year of study is a grade (first grade, second grade and etc);  English,  Math,  Social studies,  Science,  Physical education, hygiene,  Music,  Work (for boys) and economics (for girls). Secondary school (aged 11-18) Junior high schoolSenior high school (grades 7-9) (grades or or9-12) Middle school (grades 5,6-8) Children still have one teacher for most subjects Children are called “students”; They’ll get a high school diploma after the graduate/final exam [1]
