CME/SEP Connection Plasma flow in a CME controls where and when the field lines connect to the shock and hence the observed SEP intensity variation. Such multi-spacecraft observation will be made by Solar Probe Plus and Solar Orbiter near the Sun with far greater precision and with concurrent CME observation.
