The mission of the Verein or Society is the promotion of Semantic Multimedia Research and Technology, e.g. SMART e.V. The first task within this activity is to produce a plan for the achievement of the scientific forum and draft the guidelines that will govern the forum. This draft guidelines and plan will be produced during the first 6 months.  Liaison to Standards  All partners will contribute to dissemination within the standardisation bodies they are involved in. We will check for K-Space specific work items in standardisation bodies.  For example: we are currently participating in MPEG-21 and JPSearch (JPEG)
