John 3:5-8 5 Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. Process of Salvation

John 3:5-8 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.” Process of Salvation

I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation Lesson 1: The Plan of Salvation I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation II. Necessity of Salvation III. Process of Salvation IV. Methods of Salvation John 3:15, “…that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.”

We must believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. In Greek “pisteuo” (Romans 10:9-10; Acts 16:31) Method of Salvation

Romans 10:9-10, 9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Method of Salvation

Romans 10:9-10, 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Method of Salvation

Acts 16:31, They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household.” Method of Salvation

I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation Lesson 1: The Plan of Salvation I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation II. Necessity of Salvation III. Process of Salvation IV. Methods of Salvation V. Reason/Story of Salvation

Reason/Story of Salvation John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” A. God so loved the world B. That He gave C. His only Son Reason/Story of Salvation

Reason/Story of Salvation MERCY God loved us but He cannot and will not contradict His word that “a soul that sin, it shall die”. God could not allow a sinner to go unpunished so a substitute had to be provided for our sins. JUSTICE JESUS CHRIST Reason/Story of Salvation

Reason/Story of Salvation Jesus Christ came to the earth. He died on the cross to bear the penalty for our sins. We should have died but Jesus took our place. Reason/Story of Salvation

Reason/Story of Salvation His death was a substitute for our spiritual death. He died in order to pay for our sins and He has provided salvation for everyone who will accept Him. Reason/Story of Salvation

I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation Lesson 1: The Plan of Salvation I. Extent of Necessity of Salvation II. Necessity of Salvation III. Process of Salvation IV. Methods of Salvation V. Reason/Story of Salvation VI. Results of Salvation

John 3:16-18- 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Results of Salvation

John 3:16-18- 18 Whoever believes in him is not John 3:16-18- 18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. Results of Salvation

B. Removal of Condemnation,v.18 A. Eternal Life, v.16 B. Removal of Condemnation,v.18 The believer in Christ does not come into judgment for his sins; The one who refuses to accept or believe stands judged by virtue of his refusal. He has decided his own fate. Results of Salvation

Conclusion: In an act of faith we must open our hearts and invite and receive Christ as Lord and Savior. We must believe He can save us and that He has saved us once we accept Him. (John 1:12; 3:16-18) Results of Salvation
