2. TITLE: Being born into the Kingdom assures our citizenship. TEXT: John 3:1-24, I Cor. 15:50 THEME: Entering God’s Kingdom requires spiritual birth.

5. The Lesson: No one should begin the process without understanding what is involved and what the benefits are for becoming a citizen.

7. How does a person enter into God’s Kingdom?

8. I. To enter God’s Kingdom you must be born again. (1-8)

9. John 3:1-8 “Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council. 2 He came to Jesus at night and said, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.”

10. John 3:1-8 3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”

John 3:1-8 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

21. The Lesson: When we are simply born of the flesh we cannot fulfill the righteousness of God this is essential for entering the kingdom of God. We need to born of the Spirit.

46. John Stott “Maybe you are wondering why this is important to us. It is important for this reason. Not only can we read “For God so loved the world that he gave” we can also conclude “For Jesus so loved the world that he came”!”

57. APPLICATION There is another realm of existence that we cannot see or touch, yet it is just as real as this physical world that we live in. The realm is called the Kingdom of God.

58. APPLICATION The only way that we can enter into that realm is to be born into it. We are born into to it when trust that Jesus, who comes from that realm, has come to grant us access and citizenship into it.

59. APPLICATION We can into that realm even today and even while we live in these physical bodies.
