For sports that you can do alone or go: You must use FAIRE. If the word after FAIRE is masculine (un or le word), you must use DU. le VTT Je fais du VTT.

If the word after FAIRE is feminine (une or la word), you must use DE LA. la natation Je fais de la natation.

If the word after FAIRE starts with a vowel or a silent H, you must use DE L’. l’équitation Je fais de l’équitation.
