Size 100 members(2 from each state) They represent entire states, not just districts.

Election Originally chosen by the state legislatures. 17th Amendment(1913) called for the direct election of senators.

Term Elected for 6 year terms No term limit----Strom Thurmond of South Carolina was elected nine times!! Senate is a continuous body: all the seats are never up for election at the same time.

Perceptions of the Senate Considered to be more prestigious. Concern of the whole, not small locality, at the forefront of their agenda.

Qualifications 30 years old U.S. citizen for 9 years. Live in the state they are elected from.
