2 The Senate Size The Constitution states that there will be two senators from each state. Senators have larger constituencies – population that they represent. How does this differ from the United States House of Representatives? The framers hoped that the smaller size would lead to a more enlightened and responsible body. Senators serve 6 year terms. How does this differ from the House of Representatives?
