You are a bear living in a forest You are a bear living in a forest. You must get enough food every day to stay alive. You get food by competing with other organisms in the forest. Move around the “ecosystem”. Find a source of food. Compete with other “bears” by rolling dice. High roll wins ONE food ticket. Try to get a balanced diet by collecting a variety of foods (Different colors of tickets)

You can only take one ticket at a time. No peaking a points on tickets You can only take one ticket at a time! No peaking a points on tickets. Pick from the top of the pile Multiple bears can feed at same table at same time. If you both roll the same number, roll again.

SPECIAL BEARS Some bears have “issues” that complicate their ability to find and collect food. Mother bear: Must get enough food for herself AND HER TWO CUBS. (You need double the tickets) Injured bear: Has harder time getting to food. (You must beat the number rolled by your opponent by 2) Ex: Injured bear rolls a 6. Other bear rolls a 5…. OTHER BEAR WINS

There was enough food in ecosystem for 24 adult bears PLUS 2 babies FOOD TOKENS= 2000 80 points for each adult bear 40 points for each baby bear There was enough food in ecosystem for 24 adult bears PLUS 2 babies 7 died 15 survived

There was enough food in ecosystem for 22 adult bears PLUS 2 babies FOOD TOKENS= 1840 80 points for each adult bear 40 points for each baby bear There was enough food in ecosystem for 22 adult bears PLUS 2 babies 5 died (+ 1 baby) _13_ survived

There was enough food in ecosystem for __ adult bears PLUS 2 babies FOOD TOKENS= _______ 80 points for each adult bear 40 points for each baby bear There was enough food in ecosystem for __ adult bears PLUS 2 babies __ died __ survived

There was enough food in ecosystem for 22 adult bears PLUS 2 babies FOOD TOKENS= 1840 80 points for each adult bear 40 points for each baby bear There was enough food in ecosystem for 22 adult bears PLUS 2 babies __ died __ survived

80 lbs of food/bear TOTAL FOOD POINTS = _____ (Enough for ___ adults + 2 babies) Survivors = _____ Dead = _____ Did Mom survive? ____ Did babies survive? ____ Did injured bear survive? ____

SPECIAL BEARS Some bears have “issues” that complicate their ability to find and collect food. Mother bear: Must get enough food for herself AND HER TWO CUBS. (You need double the tickets) Injured bear: Has harder time getting to food. (You must roll at least a 4 to win. Ex: Injured bear rolls a 3. Other bear rolls a 2…. OTHER BEAR WINS
