How does your organisation help SMEs? Malta Enterprise is the Maltese Government’s agency responsible for promoting investment and innovation. Our main activities are: Investment promotion; Administration of fiscal incentives to support investment, R&D and Innovation. Supporting capacity building, innovation and knowledge transfer in SMEs. Malta Enterprise is also collaborating in the implementation of the Digital Malta strategy. http://digitalmalta.gov.mt/en/Pages/Landing-Pages/DigitalBusiness.aspx Note on content What type of actions/initiatives are pursued on the area of Digital Entrepreneurship Target of these digital Entrepreneurship initiatives National Strategy on Digital Entrepreneurship

Access to Finance Support for the develop of online presence Integration of digital technology in established work practices Attaining Certification and Quality Marks Access to Independent Advisory Services

Supporting access to start-up and seed funding. What more could the public sector do to support the growth of digital SMEs? Note on content For example: On a specific area On a short-medium-long timeframe Supporting access to start-up and seed funding. This could include facilitating business angels network and investigating the potential of crowd-funding. Review of market structures to ensure that the digital market is not restricted to SMEs. Example: SMEs are likely to require access to larger/global channel platforms to provide digital products and services. These might impose restrictions that limit the applicability of the channel to the SME due issues such as geographic location and language.
