Metaphors!

Metaphors! What is a metaphor? Two things being compared because they share a common idea. Example: You are my sunshine! Meaning: The sunshine brings warmth and makes me feel good and you also bring warmth and make me feel good

Metaphors! Example: “Life is like a box of chocolates.” Meaning: Life can be sweet like the taste of chocolate but it is also full of unexpected kinds of things.

Metaphors One warning: you do not use the word “like” with metaphors! You are like sunshine is not a metaphor. You are like candy is not a metaphor.

Metaphors! (Another example...)
