Jaguar Journal Upcoming Events: SNOWIE ICE Thursday, August 23 Tuesday, August 21- SBDM Meeting, 3:30 pm Thursday, August 23- Snowie Ice, 12:30-2:30 pm Monday, Sept. 3- No School, Labor Day Monday, Sept. 10- Bloodmobile at JCES, 2:00-5:00 pm Dear Families- We have had an amazing start to the school year! The students have done a wonderful job settling back into their school routines. This week, teachers have spent a lot of time teaching and reviewing classroom procedures and expectations. The students must be catching on quickly because we have had a ton of them “clip off the chart” for the last couple of days. Be sure to ask your child what that means! Check out our Facebook page each morning. We will post our StarBoard pictures each morning. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Shunk Friday, August 17, 2018 Backpack Tags On Thursday, our students received luggage tags for their backpacks. The tags have the students’ names on them, along with their mode of transportation. Please do not remove the tags from your student’s backpack. This is a safety procedure for the school and helps us ensure that the students get home safely. SNOWIE ICE Thursday, August 23 12:30-2:30 pm Cost: $2, $3 or $4 School Forms Please be sure to turn in all important school forms as soon as possible. We especially need your enrollment and household information forms. We MUST have current home and emergency phone numbers on file. Thanks in advance for your help with this! Leader in Me JCES is a Leader in Me school. Our goal is to “communicate each child’s worth and potential so clearly that they are inspired to see it in themselves.” Throughout the school year, your child will be learning, practicing and developing the following 7 habits. Habit 1: Be Proactive (I am in charge of myself.) Habit 2: Begin With The End In Mind ( I plan ahead and set goals.) Habit 3: Put First Things First (I work first then play.) Habit 4: Think Win-Win (Everyone can win.) Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood (Listen before speaking.) Habit 6: Synergize (Together is better.) Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw (Balance is best.) Information on our after school clubs will be coming home next week. Be on the lookout! JCES Football/Cheer Our football and cheer teams have been working hard for their upcoming season, which starts on August 25th. Come out and support them if you have the chance! The first few games are as follows: Saturday, August 25th against Berea in Woodford County Saturday, September 1st against Clark County in Boyle County
