G&H Radiometer/Photometer Reset Notes Valerie Fleischauer 5/8/2019

Purpose This file contains notes from the G&H manual on what parameters need to be reset on the instrument after a power cycle. The unit appears to remember the last calibration that was done (2015) based on readings from the front panel The unit also still has a detector programmed in to it with a serial number

Menu Function Keys Clear Mem Edit Detector Select Det Input More details in later slides Change the description, units, and calibration factor of the selected detector Set Response Time Adjust the response time of each gain range from 0.1 – 25.5 s When measuring stable light sources, longer response times give more accurate measurements Clear Mem Erases all 99 memory registers Holds readings not settings Select Det Input Selects BNC Input HSD Input (OL 730-5H) MUX Input (OL 730C-MUX) Additional info within these specific manual sections

Menu Function Keys Select MUX Address Erase Detector(s) Select the desired multiplexer input Reference Select MUX section of the manual Erase Detector(s) Are you sure? option is displayed Integration Mode Change between normal current-measuring and integration mode Zcal All Ranges Scans through gain ranges and takes readings to be used as zero offsets Cleared upon power cycle Without going through this process, the latest calibration values are used, which is generally more than adequate

Menu Function Keys Set PMT High Voltage Set Real Time Clock Optional power supply See PMT high voltage supply section Set Real Time Clock Set hour, min, date Set PMT Flux Limit Adjust maximum allowable PMT output See PMT high voltage supply section Select COM Interface Standard RS-232C interface or GPIB More info in the Comms Protocol Section

Menu Function Keys Set Device Address Calibrate Preamp For communication interface Calibrate Preamp Allows for display of latest calibration of the currently selected preamp Set Baud Rate What speed the serial interface communicates with the host computer 300 – 9600 baud 9600 is what I noted for these communications previously

To-Do Change display reading on front panel Check for specific detector information for our setup using information in the manual and reset the detector profile Set MUX address Set detector address

Edit Detector Detector setup library in manual is unfortunately blank Look in code to see if amperes->desired units calibrations are in there instead of the unit Look at settings in the front panel to double check if the calibration settings are stored somewhere since the detector info is still there Calibrations for Amperes/optical unit Analog output, output voltage will be x volts per y amps of the measured detector current After this is done, UNIT key may be selected to use user-defined units I believe we use A in our code
