for making a difference THANK YOU for making a difference Hand Up Luncheon Friday, October 7, 2016 11:30 a.m. – 11:55 a.m. Check-In 11:55 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch and Program First Baptist Orlando, Faith Hall Gustavo Rico Donor Relations Coordinator 407-408-4231 gustavo@UPOrlando.org

The Purpose of the Luncheon During the Event ▪ The luncheon is our most important event of the year. This event is a fundraiser, and your guests will be given the opportunity to make a gift. If asked, it is important that we do not state an expected amount, rather that they give at whatever level is most meaningful to them. ▪ In addition to having the chance to invest in the mission of United Against Poverty, the luncheon is also a unique opportunity for your guests to be informed about the current state of poverty in Orlando, and hear inspirational stories of lives impacted. ▪ Arrive at Faith Hall no later than 11:30 a.m. Please be sure to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to park and walk to the facility. ▪ Greet your guests and thank them for attending. Share a little bit about why you are involved in our mission. ▪ At Check-In you will be given a large envelope with the pledge envelopes for your table. Please keep this at your seat and wait for the prompt by the speaker to pass out the envelopes to each person at your table, near the end of the program. ▪ Encourage everyone to complete the envelope regardless of if they intend to make a gift at that moment, as they will also have the opportunity to express their interest in volunteering or touring the facility. Couples may complete a single envelope. ▪ Set an example by filling out your own pledge envelope. ▪ Collect the completed pledge envelopes and make sure they get deposited into the collection baskets before the end of the event. Prior to the Event ▪ Fill a table of eight guests, including you. ▪ Personally invite those in your network to join you at your table for the luncheon. ▪ Send each of your invitees one of the provided printed invitations which includes the event details and RSVP information. Be sure to personalize the invitation by writing your name in the blank space at the top of the card. After the Event Make Sure Your Guests RSVP ▪ Use the provided postcards to drop a handwritten note to each of your table guests, thanking them for attending. ▪ The link to register is handupluncheon.eventbrite.com ▪ Have all guests register by September 30th to ensure we have their nametag and adequate catering. ▪ It is important that you encourage your guests to complete their own registration so that they receive pertinent pre-event information and a post-event thank you. Online Tools ▪ Visit UPOrlando.org/toolkit to download helpful tools to reach out to your friends on social media.
