What have we covered today? Skills development and theory Importance of foundation skills Flexible, interactive teaching style Planning and reviewing practices Concept of a “Prime Ring” Leadership & coaching skills

Motivate your ringers Positive feedback Encouragement Use goals Ensure your ringers experience success Build confidence Keep it fun Positive feedback will encourage the learner Ensuring the learner experiences success means making sure you choose a goal that the learner can achieve. Don’t forget to let the learner work with the teacher when goal setting. Don’t force expectations onto learners, you may want them to develop quickly but it is possible to scare them off if you push too hard. Let the learner develop at their own natural speed. Keep it fun, the fastest way to loose people is for them to become bored. Inject some humour.
