A Few Biblical Facts About… CONFIDENCE

A Few Biblical Facts About… CONFIDENCE Not in ourselves…that is discouraged

Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit;” whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.

Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Jas 4:13-16

A Few Biblical Facts About… CONFIDENCE Not in ourselves…that is discouraged We can be confident through our relationship with God

Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God. 1 Jn 3:21

Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?” Heb 13:5-6

A Few Biblical Facts About… CONFIDENCE Not in ourselves…that is discouraged We can be confident through our relationship with God We can be confident through prayer

For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and may find grace to help in time of need. Heb 4:15-16

A Few Biblical Facts About… CONFIDENCE God wants His children to live confidently in serving Him

In the fear of the LORD there is strong confidence, and his children will have refuge. Prov 14:26

Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. Heb 10:35

We can have “confidence” we are servants of the one true God. We can also have “confidence” we have gathered to worship Him as He desires this morning. Thank you for coming...especially if you are visiting.

serve Him more confidently. May God help us this coming week serve Him more confidently.
