7 How to make a decision Ask God in prayer and in Scripture Ask others
Commit it to God Evaluate the results

8 1. Ask God in prayer and in Scripture
James 1:5-8 “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double- minded man, unstable in all his ways.”

9 Prov. 2:6-9 “For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; 8 He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. 9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path.”

10 2. Ask others Get available information
Luke 14:28 – 31 “Count the cost” Seek the wisdom of others Prov. 11:14 “Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” Prov.12:5, The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.

11 3. Make a decision 14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

12 James 4 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit”; 14 whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. 15 Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.” 16 But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.

13 4. Commit it to God Phil 4:6  ”Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; “ Prov. 3:5,6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.

14 5. Evaluate Does this bring glory to God? Does this positively affect others? Is this useful toward my Christian growth? Will this bring wrong influences in my life?

16 Conclusion Proverbs 3:5-7
"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil." II Corinthians 5:9-10 "So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad."
