Anatomy of the Male Reproductive System Braelyn Bianchi

A muscular sac in the pelvis, superior and Urinary Bladder A muscular sac in the pelvis, superior and Posterior to the pelvic bone. When empty, size and shape of pear.

Symphysis Pubis Located superior to any external genitalia and anterior to the bladder.

Transports sperm cells from the epidigymis Ductus Deferens Transports sperm cells from the epidigymis

Urethra Conducts semen and urine from the bladder and ejaculatory ducts, to the exterior of the body

Function is purely erectile. Corpora Cavernosa Function is purely erectile.

Penis Male Sex Organ

Column of sponge like tissue along the sides of the penis. Corpora Spongiosum Column of sponge like tissue along the sides of the penis.

Head of penis. Most distal part of male sex organ. Glans Penis Head of penis. Most distal part of male sex organ.

Prepuce Foreskin of the penis. Covers the glans penis on an uncircumcised penis

Storage chamber for semen. Ampulla Storage chamber for semen.

Produce and excrete semen. Seminal Vesicale Produce and excrete semen.

Ejaculatory Duct 2 cm in length. Created when the seminal vesicle duct merges with the ductus deferens

Walnut sized gland located between bladder and penis. Prostate Gland Walnut sized gland located between bladder and penis.

Pea shaped glands (2) located inferior to prostate gland. Bulbourethral Gland Pea shaped glands (2) located inferior to prostate gland.

Anus Starts at bottom of the rectum. Opening where gastrointestinal tract ends and exits the body.

Epididymis Tightly coiled mass of thin tubes that carry sperm from testis to ductus deferens.

Testis Pair of ovoid glandular organs that are central to the function of the male reproductive system.

Thin sac of skin and thin muscle in which lie the testicles. Scrotum Thin sac of skin and thin muscle in which lie the testicles.
