Gas prices have raised a lot in the past few years. Within the first 26 months of Obamas rein, gas prices have gone up 67%! Thats a 60% raise than during Bushs first 26 months. With gas prices so high, lower class people can barely afford to go to work, visit family, buy gifts, or purchase groceries for them selves. People should care about this problem because it affects everyone in everyday life because we need to get to work and get groceries.

One cause of the problem with gas prices is the supply and the demand. The oil demand is higher than the supply which is causing the gas prices to increase rapidly. Also the tax on gas is making a huge difference with the price. If we lower the tax on the gas it will be more efficient to buy. The Delaware tax on our gas is 23 ¢ so this means that our gas here in Seaford should be about $3.32 since the gas is $3.55.

Taxes are the next largest part of the retail price of gasoline. The Federal gas tax is 18.4 ¢ per gallon. The state average is 22.6 ¢ per gallon. The County and City can also tax gas.

Crude Oil- 78% Refining Costs + Profits- 2% Distribution, Marketing + Retail Costs + Profits- 10% Taxes- 12%

G as prices are not only effecting the United States gas prices effect the whole world I was watching the news and in Australia the gas is $5.45. Also in some places the gas in Africa gas is lower than here, its $2.62.

Price in USD Regular/Gallon Netherlands Amsterdam $6.48 Norway Oslo $6.27 Italy Milan $5.96 Denmark Copenhagen $5.93 Belgium Brussels $5.91 Sweden Stockholm $5.80 United Kingdom London $5.79 Germany Frankfurt $5.57 France Paris $5.54 Portugal Lisbon $5.35 Hungary Budapest $4.94 Luxembourg $4.82 Croatia Zagreb $4.81 Ireland Dublin $4.78 Switzerland Geneva $4.74 Spain Madrid $4.55 Japan Tokyo $4.24 Czech Republic Prague $4.19 Romania Bucharest $4.09 Andorra $4.08 Estonia Tallinn $3.62 Bulgaria Sofia $3.52 Brazil Brasilia $3.12 Cuba Havana $3.03 Taiwan Taipei $2.84 Lebanon Beirut $2.63 South Africa Johannesburg $2.62 Nicaragua Managua $2.61 Panama Panama City $2.19 Russia Moscow $2.10 Puerto Rico San Juan $1.74 Saudi Arabia Riyadh $0.91 Kuwait Kuwait City $0.78 Egypt Cairo $0.65 Nigeria Lagos $0.38 Venezuela Caracas $0.12

There are 3 possible solutions that we came up with for this problem. 1 solution could be to lower gas prices by reducing the tax on gas so then everybody could afford it. The 2 nd option would be to cut out gas vehicles completely. Car dealerships could all just make cheap electric cars so that people could have cars without paying the outrageous price of gas. The 3 rd and final option would be to modify all engines to reach at least 28 miles to the gallon and if the vehicle doesnt reach that specific mileage than you cant drive it.

The best solution would be to just lower the tax on gas. It would be better to do this because I'm pretty sure that no time near in the future will any car dealership make an electric 4x4 truck that has as much torque as a Ford F-450 Super Duty or as a Chevy Im also pretty sure that you wont be able to fix up an engine to put in these trucks that gets at least 28 miles to the gallon and still has the same amount of power as it regularly did. So by throwing these ideas out of the picture it singles this idea as the best one.

Dear Person, Gas prices have raised a lot in the past few years. Within the first 26 months of Obamas rein, gas prices have gone up 67%! Thats a 60% raise than during Bushs first 26 months. With gas prices so high, lower class people can barely afford to go to work, visit family, buy gifts, or purchase groceries for themselves. People should care about this problem because it affects everyone in everyday life because we need to get to work and get groceries. One cause of the problem with gas prices is the supply and the demand. The oil demand is higher than the supply which is causing the gas prices to increase rapidly. Another reason gas prices are so high are due to the taxes placed on gasoline by the state and federal governments. Taxes add an additional 12% to a gallon of gas. The Federal gas tax in 18.4 ¢ per gallon. The state average is 22.6 ¢ per gallon. The County and City can also tax gas. Gas prices are not only affecting the United States gas prices effect the whole world. Some countries pay as much as $6.00 per gallon. The best solution would be to just lower the gas prices. This could be done by just lower the taxes added onto each gallon of gas. It would be better to do this because we are pretty sure that no time near in the future will any car dealership make an electric 4x4 truck that has as much torque as a diesel Ford F-450 Super Duty or as a Chevy We are also pretty sure that you wont be able to fix up an engine to put in these trucks that gets at least 28 miles to the gallon and still has the same amount of power as it regularly did. So thats why we need to just lower the gas prices by reducing the gas taxes. In conclusion, we would like to say that we need to lower the gas prices because then everyone will be happy. Thank you for your time and we hope that you make an effort to lower gas prices. Sincerely, Nathan Hanenfeld and Damien Argo
