Theme Choice Assignment 9/3/15 Theme Choice Assignment Choose 2 of the following to complete. Coat of Arms – Identify a theme from the novel. Write the theme in the ribbon below the shield. In the shield, illustrate 4 scenes from the novel that exemplify or support your thematic choice. Written Comparison – Identify a theme from the novel and connect it to 2-3 other texts, movies, or songs that teach the same lesson. Your response should be approx. 3 paragraphs, explain how the theme is presented in the novel and the other works as well as any similarities and/or differences in the presentation of the theme. Theme Haiku – Write a haiku using the template provided with a theme from the novel as your topic. Theme Comic Strip – Create a comic strip in which the characters’ actions and plot imply a theme similar to one presented in the novel. (Your comic SHOULD NOT simply be a summary of the novel.  )
