The “wrap uP” The hunger games – Chapters 1 - 4 Guided notes

Chapters 1 - 4 Story told in first person – Katniss District 12 – also known as the Seam Mining town People look beat down and dirty. There is a lack of food The Seam is surrounded by a high chain-linked fence with barbed wire loops at the top Katniss’s father taught her how to hunt for food before he was killed in a mine explosion Katniss sells meat in the Hob. Though it is illegal to hunt, she doesn’t get penalized everyone is hungry for meat.

Katniss meets her friend, Gale in the woods Katniss meets her friend, Gale in the woods. They discuss running away, but know they cannot because their families wouldn’t be able to survive without them. They hunt together and sell/trade goods in the Hob (district’s black market) Sell to mayor and Katniss speaks with his daughter, Madge. She is dressed for the reaping.
