Correlative Conjunctions These conjunctions work in pairs to join words and groups of words of equal weight in a sentence: Both… And Either… Or Just As… So Neither… Nor Not Only… But (Also) Whether… Or

Purpose of Correlative Conjunctions These conjunctions are used to provide more clarity than can be given with a Coordinating conjunction Examples: Both you and I should go to school. Either Jeff or Megan did the deed. Neither Beth nor Carlos did their homework I wrote not only my essay but also his.
