Bell Ringer Prompt: What is wrong with the following sentence? I can’t wait to open my presents I want to see what I got. When finished, get out your homework. Then, get out a book to read.

Homework Here’s my goal: My goal for my writing is to use details that transport my reader to feel like they were in the moment with me. Share your goals with your group.

Questions to think about… What did this writer do that worked? How did the author do it? Why does it work?

Ai’s Personal Narrative 1st Read through: Understanding and Enjoyment. 2nd Read through: What, How, Why? What Worked? How author did it? Why does it work?

Gallery Walk-What Can We Steal?

Gallery Walk While looking your classmates charts, write down at least THREE things that you can “steal” and add to your own writing.
