Presentation transcript:

Do Now Create a T-Chart. List your interests/hobbies on one side and your talents on the other side. Explain how you think those activities will relate to your future career choices.

Understanding Yourself Guiding Question: How can learning about myslef help focus my career journey?

Understanding Yourself You are a unique combination of passions, talents, personality, and values. Career assessments can help you discover how your P*A*T*H* to Success leads to a career plan. Career assessments may involve answers to questions or informal activities. All assessments help you learn about yourself and provide ways to create your career path.

Jigsaw Reading Activity Divide into 3 groups. One student from each group will be the group leader. Each group will be assigned one section of today’s reading. Within your group, you will read over your assigned segment (this can be done individually or aloud, your group can decide). Annotate, highlight, take notes, and/or answer the guiding questions for your assigned segment. Each group should be prepared to explain their segment to the class.

Guiding Questions for Each Group How can inventories/assessments help you focus on your career journey? What are the different types of formal assessments and how can you use the results of each? What are the types of informal assessment experiences?

Present Your Section to the Class Be sure to cover the vocabulary, main ideas, and guiding questions for your segment.
