“A.P. GAMES” Themes in APUSH

American and National Identity (A) How and why definitions of American and national identity developed as well as related topics like citizenship, constitutionalism, foreign policy, assimilation, and American exceptionalism. Themes in APUSH

Themes in APUSH Politics and Power (P) How different social and political groups have influenced society and government in the United States as well as how political beliefs and institutions have developed and changed. Themes in APUSH

Geography and Environment (G) The role geography had on natural and human environments, as well as its role on social and political developments in what would become the United States Themes in APUSH

America in the World (A) The ways in which interactions between nations affected the history of North America in the colonial period. America’s role and influence on world affairs. Themes in APUSH

Migration and Settlement (M) Why and how various people who moved to and within the United States both adapted to and transformed their new social and physical environments. Themes in APUSH

Work, Exchange, and Technology (E) Factors behind the development of systems of economic exchange, particularly the role of technology, economic markets, and government. Themes in APUSH
