1Sa 26:8 Then Abishai said to David, “God has delivered your enemy into your hand this day. Now therefore, please, let me strike him at once with the spear, right to the earth; and I will not have to strike him a second time!”

One of the fastest ways to get to your destination is to take a shortcut.. -it doesn’t matter if its hard or not -it doesn’t matter whether its right or wrong -it doesn’t matter whether it is safe or dangerous As long as you get to your destination fast..? “shortcuts” often leads to risky situation..

Why didn’t King David took the shortcut? It will harm someone Its not the right time It’s not the will of the Lord-Isaiah 30:18

Be Considerate David did not took the speedway to kingship Countless of times the opportunity came He did not allow himself to be tempted Honesty is tested during dishonest times.. What we do when no one’s around is more valuable than what we do when someone’s watching Will you accept ill-gotten success at the expense of others’ loss?

Proper Timing Right timing is important almost in any aspects in life.. -music, agriculture, business, family, etc.. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us that there is a right time for anything.. -we must know the beat of life -in life, we are not in a solo contest.. -we must live in harmony with others..

God our Director David waited for the time when God appointed him as a King David was anointed by God (Psalm 89:20-21)  I have found David my servant;     with my sacred oil I have anointed him. My hand will sustain him;     surely my arm will strengthen him. David’s reign is lasting and adored compared to Saul’s Success given by this world is not lasting and could not satisfy us… John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

Conclusion: In our quest to Success there is no speedway.. Along the way we should be… -considerate to others -observe life’s timing -ask God’s will always
