Gallego wins city championship Two Sunnyside District schools – Gallego Basic and Rivera elementary schools - battled for the city title at this years Dale Lopez Roskruge Cougar Classic Basketball Tournament. The final score was Gallego 19, Rivera 18.

Give Kids a Smile Day The Arizona Dental Association, Pima Community College, Pima County Health Department and many volunteer dentists, dental hygienists and dental hygiene students donated time and resources to provide dental exams, cleanings and oral health education to more than 70 Sunnyside District students. Bernie Cohn Rodel Exemplary Principal Liberty Elementary School Principal Bernie Cohn is one of two principals to be the first in Pima County honored by the Rodel Charitable Foundation as an Exemplary Principal. He will receive $5,000 in savings bonds and will mentor three aspiring principals over the next two years.
