The M&M Survival Challenge Sydney Edmisten 7th Mr.Gorden 12/8/14

Question To see how well animals can camouflage themselves in the wild to stay away from a predator. But instead of animals it is with M&Ms and skittles. If I use the same colored M&M and Skittles and put it in a pan how hard and fast people can find the M&Ms.

Backround The reason i picked this topic is because i want to know how well animals can hide themselves from predators when they are in danger. Also I want to know how well their camo works.I’ve wondered if an animal can protect itself from predators well nuff to hind and not get caught.

Variables Independent-changing the different colored M&MS with the habitat. Dependent-which M&Ms are camouflaged best by their environment. Controls-The number of M&Ms,size of M&Ms,and the color of M&Ms.

My Hypothesis If i use a lighter color M&M then i think that it will be spotted easier. But if i use a darker color then i think that it will be harder to find it.

-Materials -Gloves -M&Ms -skittles -pie pan/pot

Conclusion I am studying how well animals camouflage works. For my experiment I am getting 10 of each color M&M and 20 of each color skittle and seeing how well they blend together. So I separate the colors and then I put the same color M&Ms and skittles together. Then i will get 4-3 people and see how fast they can find the M&Ms.After the experiment was done I looked at all the times and how long and how many M&Ms got found
