QPC Therapeutic Delivery Model Individual work with the child or young person will be considered on a case by case basis. Factors will be considered to ensure that individual work is offered at an appropriate level, time and situation. Delivered by Clinical Team (Consultant Clinical Psychologist & Assistant Psychologists) Team Around the Child Approach provides a carefully coordinated and clearly defined MDT approach to supporting the placement. Includes all relevant agencies. Consultation to staff within the homes to develop their understanding of the psychological needs of the child and to develop specific behavioural management strategies regarding the young people and/or the completion of lower level input to individual children Supervision and Training Clinically led group consultation Level of Need Whole Team Approach Training to residential staff and to teachers to promote: An understanding and awareness of the mental health and psychological needs of the young people in their care and how to respond those needs and potential difficulties. Early planning & decision making re emotional well being and mental health. Resilience within residential staff and teaching teams Individual Therapeutic Work Provide a structured, comprehensive, integrated and sustainable provision that meets the mental health and psychological needs of local Children in Care Promotes the following approaches Preventative Needs led Effective & creative use of resources Multiagency & Integrated Clear and define roles of services Interdependency of components Attachment theory and Maslow’s hierarchy of need Promotes the importance of a safe & secure environment (relationships & emotional) that support & facilitate development (Dr Kim Golding’s model, (2007) Individual/direct work is offered at an appropriate level and when timing and when circumstances are appropriate Group Therapeutic Work - SPARCS Baseline and/or Dynamic Assessment Clinical Governance Framework
