Fall Line The Fall Line is where the hilly, mountainous land meets the Coastal Plain

Fall Line It separates the Piedmont region from the Coastal Plain The drop in elevation creates a series of waterfalls Caused major difficulties for early colonial commerce

Fall Line Used as a source to harness energy Several Georgia cities were founded on the Fall Line Columbus on the Chattahoochee River Macon on the Ocmulgee Milledgeville on the Oconee Augusta on the Savannah River

Okefenokee Swamp “The Land of the Trembling Earth” Located in Coastal Plain near Waycross and Folkston

Okefenokee Swamp Shallow black waters stained by decaying vegetation Snakes, turtles, armadillos, otters, birds, deer, alligators, frogs, black bears.
