FAFSA Free Application for Federal Student Aid Complete FAFSA Signed by both student and parent College may “verify” information on FAFSA Pell Grant Eligible Same amount for every school COST OF ATTENDANCE Hard Costs “The School Bill” Tuition & Fees Campus Room and Board Dorms – Need to apply - Deposit Soft Costs “The Extras” Books / Transportation / Miscellaneous

Determining Financial Need SAR–Student Aid Report Paper or electronic document that gives you some basic information about your eligibility for federal student aid and lists schools that will have access to your FAFSA file. College Financial Aid Award Letter Outlines: COA – Cost of Attendance EFC – Expected Family contribution Free Money – Scholarships and Grants Self- Help Aid Accept all scholarships from schools applied. Wait on accepting loans Once eligible – can go back and take out loan if needed. Continue to check for additional scholarships (time sensitive) Will be sent to college email – forward email to phone or main email.
