Steps for Measuring Distances on a Map TASK: We are going to look at he steps for measuring distances on a map. However you will work in groups to arrange the steps in the order that your group think is CORRECT!

Use any of the item stated above (preferably a strip of paper for straight line distances) to measure the distance between the two places. Place the strip of paper against the scale to convert into the actual distance; thus getting the measurement of the places/ points. Ensure that you have made markings on the items used for the places/ points. Get a strip of paper, string, or ruler. Find the two points/ places on the map that you are going to measure the distance.

Get a strip of paper, string, or ruler. Find the two points/ places on the map that you are going to measure the distance. Ensure that you have made markings on the items used for the places/ points. Place the strip of paper against the scale to convert into the actual distance; thus getting the measurement of the places/ points.

N.B.: If the line is quite curved, divide the curved distances into various straight line segments. Then mark each location on the strip of paper until the whole length of the curved route is marked.
