7 Steps to Making Good Decisions

1. Define the decision you need to make. Be specific.

2. Brainstorm a list of all possible choices and alternatives.

3. Gather all the information you can about each option. Information is power.

4. Analyze the consequences of each alternative. Consider all the pros and cons, information, values and feelings.

5. Make the decision.

6. Create a specific action plan and do it. Set some goals.

7. Evaluate whether it was a good decision or not.

Reflecting on Decision Making How might this model improve your decision making? Will you use the full model every time you make a decision? When might you use selected steps? How would this model be helpful when working as a team? Lets use this model to solve the problem and make a decision about living at home or moving out after you graduate!
