Disasters come in many shapes and sizes. Most are related to the weather. Some are predictable, like a hurricane. Some, like an earthquake, surprise us.
A TRAGEDY TO ENVIRONMENT. Earthquake constitute one of the worst natural hazards which often turn into disaster causing widespread destruction and loss.
 Earthquake is caused by a sudden slipping or movement of a portion of the earth's crust, accompanied and followed by a series of vibrations. Aftershock.

Environmental emergencies SECOND GRADE – UNIT 2 PART1 Environmental emergencies INTRODUCTION

what IS AN ENVIROMENTAL EMERGENCY? It’s a sudden disasters or accidents resulting from natural, technological or human-induced factors, or a combination of these, that causes or threatens to cause severe environmental damage as well as loss of human lives and property.

List of top 9 environmental disasters Hurricane Earthquake Tsunami Flood Forest fire Toxic-waste dumping Oil spill Ice storm Influenza

hurricane A hurricane is a type of storm called a tropical cyclone, which forms over tropical or subtropical waters.

earthquake It’s a sudden and violent shaking of the ground, sometimes causing great destruction, as a result of movements within the earth's crust or volcanic action.

tsunami It’s a long high sea wave caused by an earthquake, submarine landslide, or other disturbance.

flood It’s a common natural disaster when water inundates land that is normally dry.

Forest fire It’s an uncontrolled fire occurring in nature resulting from natural or human factors.

Toxic-waste dumping It’s an uncontrolled fire occurring in nature resulting from natural or human factors.

Oil spill It’s the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment, especially marine areas, due to human activity, and is a form of pollution.

Ice storm It’s a heavy fall of snow, especially with a high wind and extreme temperatures.

influenza It’s a heavy fall of snow, especially with a high wind and extreme temperatures.
