Heart Blood Flow Task: Using the diagram and the baby pom poms, create a stop motion animation showing the flow of blood through the heart. Apps: iMotion Resources: Heart Diagram, Baby pom poms Extension: Export the stop motion to the camera roll, import into iMovie and add an audio narration and a sound track

Systems Task: Choose a body system, production process or mathematical process from the curriculum. Using the whiteboard, draw the basics. Then using iMotion, use the manual capture mode to add and draw the elements of the system. Rub out, redraw and capture each part of the process. Export your movie into the camera roll. Apps: iMotion Resources: Body diagram, whiteboards, whiteboard pens Extension: Export the stop motion to the camera roll, import into iMovie and add an audio narration and a sound track

Mystery Photo book Task: Use the camera and the microscope to take a series of photos. Think of a theme like a colour, or fabrics or different parts of the body. Create a book with the mystery photo on one page and the full version photo on the next page. Apps: Camera, Book Creator or Creative Book Builder Resources: Mini microscopes Extension: Include audio instructions and details for each picture in your book

Science investigation - Gravity Task: Create the paper helicopters using the template provided. Using the slowmo/timelapse features of the camera, capture the creation of the helicopter and the effects of it dropping. Then, alter the number/placement of paperclips and record more footage. Add the videos into iMovie. Add an audio narration explaining the effect of gravity and wind resistance. App: iMovie Resources: Paper helicopter template, paper clips, scissors Extension: Add a sound track and title slides

Teacher explanation Task: Use the app Explain Everything to create an interactive video that shows you explaining a concept for your students, e.g. the water cycle, maths equation, etc. Think about how to break it down into a series of steps (make each one a separate slide) and then using the pen and recording functions create an explanation you could use with a class Apps: Explain Everything Resources: Water cycle sheet Extension: Export the finished explanation into iMovie, add titles and a sound track. Export out and add it onto YouTube.

Making a movie with special effects Task: Use the characters and the green screen to record a stop motion movie in iMotion. Then use the Green Screen app to combine your green screen stop motion movie with a background picture/movie. You can create a script from scratch or use a book/movie as a guide. Apps: iMotion, Green Screen Resources: Green screen, characters or paper cutouts Extension: Export the combined green screen movie to the camera roll, import into iMovie and add titles and a sound track.

Narrative retell as a picture book or graphic novel Task: Choose a common novel that may be studied in secondary school. Pick part of the essential storyline to use in a simple retell. Find characters and settings online, or use the Lego characters. Using Pic Collage layer characters and backgrounds to create the scenes for each section of the book. Export to the camera roll. Import each scene into Book Creator. Add words and audio to bring your novel to life. Choose a comic template if you wish to create a graphic novel Apps: Pic Collage, Book Creator Resources: Lego characters Extension: Export your book as a movie, add it up to Youtube and add it onto your website.

News Report Task: Choose an news item of interest to you. Think about how to present it as a news report. Use the green screen as a backdrop and then record your news report. Choose backgrounds to add to your green screen movie – use copyright free images. Add your movie into iMovie and add in the appropriate Apps: DoInk Green screen app, iMovie Resources: Green screen Extension: Export your movie, upload it to YouTube and add it onto your website.

Characters coming to life Task: Choose a character from a point in history – eg Winston Churchill, Albert Einstein, etc. Find out some interesting facts about them. You will interview the characters by creating movies using the app Talking Photos. Start by finding a picture of your character online. Save it to your camera roll. Import the photo into Talking Photos. Use the app to record your character talking and explaining a part of their history. Export to your camera roll. Apps: Talking Photos, iMovie Extension: Export movie from Talking Photos, add into iMovie and add titles, context slides and a soundtrack.
