Citing Your Sources Evidence does not have to be a direct quote It can also be a summary of someone else’s thoughts Anything that did not come from your own head, or my lecture, needs to be cited Tell me where you got that information Two types of citations In-text citations Post text citations

Citing Your Sources In-text citations According to (name of source)… (Name of source) says… Post-text citations Summary of what the text said (name of source). “Quote from the text” (name of source).
