Thesis: Does it directly respond to one of the prompts?
Topic Sentences: Does each one directly explain or support the thesis?
Organization: Make an outline. Is the support logical and adequate?
Coherence: Does each paragraph move logically to the next?
Evidence: Do you have enough evidence to support each claim?
Format: Do in-text citations follow MLA format? Works Cited page?
Grammar/Mechanics: Have someone else read the paper to check for errors.
