2 What is Text Evidence? Text evidence is necessary when answering questions about a text. Examples of text evidence include facts or quotes taken from the text that support your answer. Text evidence should be cited. Citing text evidence gives credit to the author or source that provided the information.

Have you ever seen a service dog in training? These dogs usually wear a special harness. They go through a long training process before they are adopted. Once they are fully trained, they can help people in many ways. Service dogs are trained to do specific work or tasks for a person with a disability. Service dogs help people who have difficulty hearing, seeing, or walking.

By Bruce Monty Service dogs spend a year or more in training before they are given to a family. During their training, they are taught to ignore other people and only focus on their companions. These dogs are trained to ignore when someone other than their companion calls them or offers them food.

By Bruce Monty Some service dogs are trained to work with the blind. They help people who can’t see to get around safely. Other dogs are trained to help deaf people. These dogs can tell their companions when there are sounds like the doorbell, fire alarm, and ringing phone. Service dogs are trained to help a variety of people with a variety of tasks. Service dogs are very important to the people they help.
