Task: Create an A 3 mind map on Refugees: Read pages 227- 229 from the text book on ‘Conflict and persecution have increased numbers of refugees.’ Have a look at the websites on ‘unchr’ and ‘the refugee project’ as suggested in the text. Look at figure 7.15 (the map) which shows the location and numbers of Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries. Create an A3 mindmap (in pairs) on the crisis occurring in Syria. Briefly explain: what has happened there? What caused the conflict? and then explain the economic, social and environmental impacts of this large influx on refugees on local communities in countries such a Lebanon, Jordon and Turkey.
