Healthy Mouths Project Aims Develop evidence-based multi-professional training Develop knowledge in oral hygiene Reduce risk of aspiration & pneumonia Healthy Mouths Project Aims

How we did it 4 planning sessions 1 x theoretical session and 1 x practical Session delivered to the staff in PMLD classes Parent question & answer session Feedback gathered from staff to evaluate & develop training package

15 minute Lesson Plan

Qualitative Feedback from staff most interesting/relevant least interesting/relevant The importance of different techniques to make the learner feel comfortable Thinking about the different reasons why some pupils might refuse brushing teeth I don’t think it is appropriate to ask us to brush each other’s teeth. I don’t want to have my teeth brushed
