Experience from Statistical Office of Montenegro – MONSTAT Assistance to Western Balkan countries for improvements in the area of “Dissemination” for Western Balkan countries Experience from Statistical Office of Montenegro – MONSTAT

Aim of the assistance of Western Balkan countries in the area of dissemination Sharing the experiences and knowledge of specialists of Statistical Office of Estonia The assistance is divided into two main groups of topics: the policy of dissemination of statistics the different possibilities (tools) of implementing of dissemination policy

Duration of the project 18 months Start of action: 01.12.2005 End of action: 01.06.2007

Experiences from Montenegro – II PRIORITIES Issues to be improved: Dissemination in general – all aspects of dissemination; Statistical publications (types, concepts, procedures, staff, IT sources, content development); Internet publications and Web site; Marketing in statistics; Public and media relations; Internal communication and communication with users (user survey); Library and archive organization and functioning. Problems that MONSTAT encounters: Lack of knowledge from this area; Insufficient number of employees (we need to form separate department with the staff trained for this kind of work); Technological backwardness comparing to developed countries.
